Title office near me in Ohio illustration showing an Ohio map, city pins, a county title office and vehicle title paperwork.

You have time for one trip, not two. A search for a title office near me should help you find a counter that handles your transaction and is open when you can get there.

Before arranging your lunch break or Saturday morning around that visit, check three things: the branch, the schedule and the paperwork.

Ohio title-office hours differ by location. Some branches offer Saturday service. Others operate only on weekdays, and a nearby BMV office can have different hours from the title office next door. Summit County Clerk

Title office near me: Saturday hours by branch

Some Ohio title offices open on Saturdays, but Saturday service is not available at every branch. Even offices within the same county can follow different schedules.

These selected locations publish Saturday hours:

Government title office Address Published Saturday hours Phone
Summit County Main Office 1030 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, OH 44310 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., except legal holidays 330-630-7200
Summit County North Branch 10333 Northfield Road, Suite 152, Northfield Village, OH 44067 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., except legal holidays 330-467-7333
Franklin County Title North 220 E. Campus View Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43235 8 a.m. to noon 614-525-3090
Hamilton County Hamilton Avenue Office 10964 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45231 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 513-946-4646
Cuyahoga County Parma Office 12100 Snow Road, Suite 15, Parma, OH 44130 8 a.m. to noon on selected Saturdays only 440-888-7050

The schedules above come from the official county location pages. They are selected government offices, not EZ locations or a complete statewide directory. Hours were reviewed on October 21, 2026; confirm the specific date and any closure notices before traveling. Summit County Clerk

Akron and Northfield do not close at the same time

Summit County’s Main Office and North Branch both list Saturday service, but the North Branch closes an hour earlier. Check the branch you intend to visit rather than relying on a general county-hours listing.

In Columbus, look specifically for Title North

Franklin County lists Saturday hours at Title North. Its South, East and West branches publish weekday schedules. The county also notes that its offices open to the public at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesdays, rather than the usual 8 a.m.

In Cincinnati, Saturday hours are branch-specific

Hamilton County publishes Saturday title hours for its Hamilton Avenue office. Do not assume the Downtown or Red Bank Road office follows that schedule.

In Parma, “Saturday hours” does not mean every Saturday

Cuyahoga County publishes a list of selected Saturday dates for its Parma office. Check that date list before planning a weekend visit.

What about a title office after work?

Check the title counter’s schedule, not just the building’s hours or the nearby license agency.

Montgomery County provides a useful example: its Downtown Dayton BMV publishes weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the neighboring Auto Title Agency publishes 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Arriving at 4:45 p.m. would be within the BMV’s published hours but outside the title agency’s. Weekend options also vary by county. Lucas County’s Auto Title Division publishes 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with its offices closed on Saturdays, Sundays and listed holidays.

Before leaving work early, call the branch and ask whether it can accept your particular transaction at your planned arrival time. Do not plan around an assumed grace period after closing.

Do you need an appointment for an Ohio title office?

Check the county and branch you plan to use. Do not assume one appointment policy applies statewide.

Franklin County offers online appointments and recommends them for faster service. Its published instructions include a limit of five title transactions per appointment, valid photo identification and original documents unless otherwise specified. Its check-in process uses the appointment confirmation and the customer’s mobile number. Franklin County Clerk

Schedule a Franklin County auto-title appointment

For another county, use its official location page or phone number to ask whether appointments are available, whether walk-ins are accepted and what arrival instructions apply.

An appointment reserves time for the visit. It does not replace the documents required for your transaction.

Make this call before taking time off

You do not need a long conversation. You need the office to understand what you are bringing. “I’m planning to come to your office on [day] at [time] for [an Ohio title transfer, an out-of-state title or a duplicate title]. I have [describe the documents]. Do I need an appointment, who needs to attend, and is anything else required before you can process it?”

Then confirm the accepted payment methods and any arrival cutoff for that transaction.

Mention a lien, multiple owners, an estate or someone signing for another person during that call. Those details can change the documents or authority the office needs to review. Use the Ohio BMV’s title instructions as the starting point for the transaction itself. Ohio BMV

Confirm the branch, the date and the transaction. “Are you open Saturday?” is only part of the question.

An open counter cannot replace missing paperwork

Before comparing drive times, identify what you actually have.

You have an Ohio paper title signed over by the seller

For an ordinary private-sale paper-title transfer, check that the seller completed the assignment and that the required signature or signatures were notarized. Bring the original title, acceptable identification and the applicable payment.

Out-of-state titles follow a different document path and can require a VIN inspection. Do not use an Ohio private-sale checklist as a substitute for the instructions that apply to your vehicle. Ohio BMV

You lost the paper title that was issued in your name

Tell the office you need a duplicate title, rather than describing the request as a transfer.

Summit County’s published duplicate guidance identifies the title application and government-issued identification among the required items. Check the instructions for your situation before arriving. Summit County Clerk

Your title exists electronically, but you want paper

That is not automatically a lost-title case. Ohio’s guidance directs owners seeking a paper version of an electronic title to the replacement-title process. A lien can affect the steps required. Ohio BMV

Naming the correct transaction helps you ask the right questions before choosing a visit.

Can you handle the transfer online outside office hours?

For some private sales, yes. Ohio’s Title Portal allows an eligible buyer to apply online 24 hours a day, rather than visiting a title office. That is online application access, not a promise of immediate issuance. Ohio BMV

The route has specific conditions. The transaction must be a qualifying private-person-to-private-person motor-vehicle sale, with no lien on the current title and no lien on the new title. Buyer eligibility, identification, account and document requirements also apply.

For a paper-title transaction, the buyer must have the paper title in hand. For an electronic-title transaction, the buyer needs the paper memorandum title and the BMV 3770 ownership-assignment and application form. Required signatures and notarization still apply. Ohio BMV

Check the official Ohio Title Portal requirements

Review the complete requirements before deciding that an online application can replace your visit.

Confirm the payment before leaving

The Ohio BMV lists an $18 government title fee, with $23 in counties where an additional charge has been approved. That is not the total cost of every transaction. Taxes and other applicable charges can affect what you owe. Ohio BMV

Payment methods also matter. Cuyahoga County, for example, states that it does not accept personal checks for auto-title transactions. Cuyahoga County Government

Ask the office for the total and the accepted payment method before you leave. Use the current Ohio title-fee information to distinguish the government charge from any optional private assistance.

Need help replacing your own missing Ohio title?

A trip to the county office is one option. For accepted cases, EZ Ohio Title also offers private duplicate-title assistance.

The starting question is specific: Is the Ohio title already in your name, and was the issued paper certificate lost, stolen or destroyed?

Ask EZ Ohio Title about your duplicate-title situation

Describe what happened to the certificate and whether a lien appears on the record, or say that you are unsure. Ask whether the case is accepted, what assistance is included and what the charges are before starting an order.

Do not include Social Security numbers, identification images, title scans or payment details in that first inquiry.

EZ Ohio Title is not a government office and does not perform ownership transfers or loan-payoff title retrieval. Applying directly through a county title office remains an option. Pasted text(20261021-165845)

For a transfer, an appointment or a Saturday visit, start with the official office. For a missing issued title already in your name, ask which duplicate route fits before making the trip.
